I'm not sure what spiraled the chain of events that's happened to me.

I've had issues in the past with my bios and my storage devices not showing up on random occasions. If I go into advanced settings I see all my drives just fine, but when it comes to seeing them in the boot priority portion of my bios I see nothing but my flash drive and my CD-Rom.

Long story short I attempted to put in a second HDD with an SSD as my primary storage device. Upon installation I went to disk management partitioned the drive it showed up I was able to install files and everything felt awesome, than all of a sudden random freezing started happening. The OS didn't crash because it would constantly recover from these little freezes.

I noticed the mouse icon changing to a busy status for about 20 seconds my browser would freeze if I was watching youtube it would freeze and than after a few seconds everything worked fine again. Something new that is also going on is every time I right click windows explorer drops and I think that could be something in my shell viewer I could check out I don't know I'm lost. I can't reinstall window's.

The system sometimes boots to the SSD and sometimes doesn't. I've done more restarts that I'd like to. I'm at my boiling point and I'm about ready to use this computer to start a fire.

Things I've done:

Removed the Cmos battery. Reset CMOS using the jumpers.
Reflashed my Bios.
Reverted back to Window's 7 in hopes of fixing the issue
Disconnected the Secondary (Recent HDD install)
Tried re-installing window's which is a mess in it's own (HDD and SSD aren't showing up as storage devices for the install when running the install CD. I've tried using a USB Flash drive and that didn't work either.
Tried changing out sata cables.
Checked to make sure they were making good physical contact to the drives.
I've checked temperatures everything looked fine.

I did revert back to Windows 7 so my current OS is Windows 7 not 10 atm

My Specs are in my signature to the bottom right but I'll list them again.

i7-4770k
Asus z87-pro mobo
Samsung 840 Evo SSD 250gig
Kingston Hyper X Blue Ram
H110i Corsair CPU cooler 280MM
(HDD recently Purchased was a WD Blue)
V700 Cooler Master PSU
GTX 970 GPU

I'm simply out of ideas please help. I'm reaching out to the elite here help help. I'm poor and I don't have the cash to take this to a tech but it looks like I might spend my grocery money having to if I can't get this fixed before Tom Clancy's The Division releases lol

Hey there, Stevo97!

This definitely sounds frustrating! 🙁 Good job with the troubleshooting, though. I'd recommend you to benchmark the whole system as well, not only the HDD and motherboard. It could also be a PSU-related issue.

If you are not comfortable tampering with the hardware by yourself, I'd advise you to turn to a professional PC repair service for assistance. The tech guys there should be able to perform full diagnostics on your system and easily find the source of the problems.

Keep me posted!

Thanks for the response. I made the moron mistake of simply not removing all my peripherals and just leaving a standard keyboard and mouse plugged in. I was using a Razor Chroma keyboard with a Scimitar Corsair mouse and these some how were causing conflicts during Window's install and detecting my hard drivers as soon as I removed both of those and connected a standard keyboard and basic mouse I was able to detect the storage drives and do a fresh install of Window's 7.

Everything seems to be functioning fine. I ran 3dmark, and my hardware seems to be comparative to those using the same setup. So I don't think my hardware is functioning at a lesser state, however I do plan on taking my PC some where and having them run diagnostics on my Sata ports on the mobo as well as PSU etc because there are times after my system posts where it hangs attempting to detect my SSD where my OS is installed. It's only happened once or twice but this has been an on going issue for awhile.

It was the most frustrating thing I've had to deal with. Once I reinstalled Window's 7 I had memory leaks which I was able to fix thank god. Window's updater was causing my CPU frequency to sit at 100% something to do with netsvchost.exe. Anyways everything seems fine now.

The system boot into my OS seems pretty consistent with some hiccups less than 10% of the time. I learned alot from this experience and I'll tell ya it was a pain in my ass.
