Hello, yesterday I built my first PC and everything seems to be up and running but for some reason I am getting idle temps of 45-50 Celsius as reported by Speccy. One thing I noticed is I encountered play when clamping down the Hyper212 evo. As a result I felt the heat sink slide around the cpu when trying to clamp it down and I'm not sure if the contact area on the heat sink is lined up correctly, however I'm not sure if it corrects itself or not when clamping the heat sink onto the CPU completely. Specs:
i3 4160
G.Skill 8gb (2x 4gb) 1666mhz
Geforce GTX 760
ASrock Z97 Extreme4
Asus 650watt EarthWatts PSU

Solution
If the temperatures on full load are OK, then don't worry about the idle temps - they are irrelevant.
Anything below 75°C is fine, although with your cooler and CPU, I would expect full load temp to be below 60°C
