New internal HDD showing up in 'device manager' but not in 'disk management.' How can I get it to work?

I recently bought 2 new seagate ST2000NM0011 hard drives, but I can't get either one to work on my machine. They have a SATA6 interface, but I found that they are compatible with SATA2 interfaces, so I bought them.

I am running windows 7 on a Dell Optiplex 330.

When I plug in one of these hard drives into my PC, it will show up on 'Device Manager' but not 'Disk Management.' In 'Device Manager' there is an exclamation mark next to the drive, and the error seems to be that it can't install the device drivers. This is a generic device (so I'm told), so I don't think it should need any drivers for it to work.

I tried using MiniTool Partition Wizard, but it too doesn't find the drive. I also tried 'rescan disks' within 'Disk Management' but it won't find the hard drive either.

What can I do? My old storage hard drive is full and need the use of these new drives asap.

Thanks for any answers. Much appreciated... And I'm not very tech-knowledgeable although I do know a bit, so please bear that in mind when answering

PS: The drive spins when plugged into PC, so it is definitely being powered up

Can you explain what exactly this does and how to do it please? Yes, the drive only shows up in 'Device Manager,' with an error. When 'installing driver' pops up in tray, it always fails.

Should this drive work with my model of PC?

Edit: It seems I have to pay for Acronis. Are there any free tools that can do the same thing?

Thanks for your help! Got the drives working by booting up with ubuntu and partitioning and formatting from there using gParted. Funny how it was done in a mere 5 seconds in ubuntu, and windows just couldn't seem to do it. Thanks again!
