The new Siri app won't talk to you when you have bad breath, instead coughs and complains about the smell.

on an interesting note, this will be quite the interesting toy to have at parties. Blood Alcohol Content meter FTW.

So they list uses like blood sugar tracking and BAC measurements but what they are really saying is screw solving real problems what we are really interested in is ridding the world of bad breath!

:/ at this rate, everyone will have to check with their phone/tablet/computer that their own existence is permitable each day. Who needs to go around with a phone to check what everything smells like, as a standard everyday device. For people who perhaps cannot smell perhaps, but most people can.

Great for dating! hehe But yeah, its very dependent on the hardware of the device. Doubt this will happen but good to know they are trying!

"My job, was to gently remove the stick from their asses, wave it under my nose and give it a good sniff then proclaim "Your right your $hit doesn't stink," then oh so gently re-insert the stick from whence it came." - Lewis black

Looks like they will have an app for that soon.

There was an article a few days ago where IBM predicted what the five big innovations in the next five years would be. Computers that could detect and reproduce various senses such as smell and touch... that didn't take long. Got the detection part down, now to get the reproduction part going...

Police, lawyers, and government will love this, whether it does or does not. Police will request the data to arrest/fine people, lawyers will sue if someone drives drunk and apple knew, and government will have a more tool to control/fine/spy on people in the name of "safety"

Breathalysers has a very brief stint in bars, first to make people safe, until it lead to drinking more and owner's realized the liabiity either way. There is also huge difference between the $20 units people can buy over the internet, and the $500 units policy use.

Next up: blood samples, first for health, then for revenues

Apple probably saw that article too and decided they must quickly patent it.

Man has iPhone in back pocket and standing in the middle of a loaded train ride for 1 hour.

Everyone can hear Siri saying. "Your as$ smell like sh!t. Your as$ smell like sh!t. Your as$ smell like sh!t. Your as$ smell like sh!t."

Man removes iPhone out of back pocket and yells at Siri. "SHUT UP!"

Siri replies: "Your breath smells like over due coffee and cheese... Your breath smells like over due coffee and cheese... Your breath smells like over due coffee and cheese... "

New wave dating scene... Going out for dinner, you open the window, and hold the phone in the breeze until it detects good food.... Then you park, order, and proceed to dunk the phone into the dish, and confirm that the chip was right about the smells in the first place. If you want to impress your date... That's going to get it done! =)
