I bought a keyboard (yes, the same one in the other post I just made, for those of you keeping track: https://www.microcenter.com/product/651928/inland-wireless-mechanical-numeric-keypad). The USB-C connector is recessed and cannot be used wtih the USB-C cable that I have handy. Now, to be fair, the keyboard did come with it's own cable which has a connector with a "skinny" case. Would you return the keyboard? Is that something that the store *would* take it back for?

Well either shave down the cable you are trying use, sand paper, or use the cable it came with. But Microcenter will take it back, if you didn't destroy the packaging its usually not going to be a problem with them, they would rather make sure you are a happy customer than fight you about it.
