New memory sticks

I have a Compaq 5410US with 256 S-DRAM Memory. I now know that I need more memory. My question is this, will any SDRAM memory up grade chips do the trick, or is there something specific that I need to look for? All advice is greatly appreciated.

You need to get PC-133 SD RAM. Your computer only supports up to 512MB of RAM in total. So you can only get another 256MB stick or less. This is a very old computer, what do you use it for? I can't imagine it would do more than word processing and basic internet.

Thanks ... That's about what I use it for....basic Internet and word process .... I bought the pc about 4.5 yrs ago when I started my doctoral degree. All I really might need is another 256 mb. I hope!
