new monitor Again!!

I bought a Samsung SyncMaster 753DF last week.. and i am going to return it tomorrow, and wondering what i should get i was thinking about maybe the Viewsonic G75F, this samsung uses shadow mask which the guy at compuse says isnt very good.. i plan to run the monitor at 1152x864 85Hz+... any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Here's my suggestion. Never listen to the guys at CompUSA. He may be right in this case, but 9 times out of 10, they have no clue what they're talking about. Good luck though.

Yeah, that monitor you got stinks.
The SyncMaster 700NF is <i>way</i> better, but the ViewSonic G75f is also <i>very</i> good.

But if your gonna spend that much on a 17"--might as well go up to a 19".

I have 955df and it has a really good , look at the monitor before you buy it, by the way how can shadow maks be BAD? and why df series stinks? I'd say df is great flat monitor for a good price, I use for gaming and I LOVE IT! My friend has ViewSonic PS790 and it's 0.27 pitch sux, colors sux, I don't really know why NF is better sereis of monitors then DF, but I know at 640x480 aperature shows thick line. shadow mask don't. Did u use the monitor? try it if u didn't and then return it back, I was going to do the same with my 955df when I found out that it has distortion, but then it is slight and not noticable in games. I bought mine for only $270 from www.emscomputing.com , but NO WAY from CompUSA for $350??!!

I didn't say the DF series stink, I said the particular monitor he had stinks, well just my opinion.

Dont take my word for it.
manarch gots the right idea. Go try it out and see if it satisfies your needs and keep it if it does. Otherwise just return it.

OK, I know that there is 753DF and 755DF, which one is better - I don't know. I'd like to know everybody's opinion about 955df monitor and ditstorions(like bottom and top, is it a really big deal? do many monitors have it? and doesn it mean it is low quality one?)...

Im not sure which is better either, because the only real way to tell is to compare them side-by-side.

Wheather its a big deal or not really depends on you since you'll be the one looking at it. It depends on wheather or not it affects the way you work (and play) on your computer. If it doesnt bother you, then don't worry about it.

I don't know if many other monitors have it (your right, maybe it maybe because it is of low quality).
But I have the SyncMaster 950p (neither DF or NF)...have had no problems with it. No distortion or anything like that. The graphics and text quality is excellent...plus its not that expensive.
