New monitor help

Hello! I've just got my new monitor, its AOC G2460VQ6, 75Hz, FreeSync. I noticed that it has many cables, but I'm wondering if I should use the HDMI or DisplayPort. I watched some videos and can't decide which one. What do you think is better to use for a FreeSync monitor with AMD R7 260x video card? Do the cables reduce performance or improve it?

When gaming at 60 FPS, there is no difference between HDMI and DP. If you're planning to game at resolutions higher than 1080p, the DP is the way to go. But since your monitor is locked at 75Hz and has a 1080p display, there won't be much of a difference between those two.

umm display port is better it can run faster then hdmi 1.2 and below and normally hdmi's that come included with you monitor are ones that run at 60Hz

hdmi 1.3 and above supports are the only version of hdmi to support higher then 60hz. 1.2 and lower only support 60hz

Yes, DP is generally better. But at 1080p and 60/75Hz he won't be able to see much of a big difference.

I actually read somewhere that FreeSync can only run on DisplayPort. Is that true?

after looking around i can say yes, the freesync is only compatible with a display port cable

a display cable 1.2 and above should be compatible with free sync however i think 1.1 will work too but don't quote me
