I want to purchase two monitors for my new R9 390 that I am purchasing very soon. I understand that the graphics card will not be able to handle gaming on the two monitors but that is not my intention (I might try to play on one monitor and have the other one free. Not sure yet). My options i guess are these:

Are any of these monitors good for side-by-side? Thanks. If you have any other suggestions for monitors please suggest them!

No you wont have performance issues... here is the deal. Put gpu's in crossfire.. connect both Asus monitors to the two display ports on the main card (USUALLY THE TOP CARD) make ine monitor your primary display (game on this one) then indentify second monitor as monitor 2 (NOT SURROUND).
While you play one the main screen, the secondary screen can be for cpuz, gpuz, overclocking software, and desktop etc etc....just a suggestion
the benq is a good monitor but only has 60htz refresh rate is a GREAT PRICE. usually goes for 200+

the asus is good also although more expensive but has 144htz and better brightness.

I like them both at this price point ... partial to ASUS THO. I have to say go with the ASUS

How can I tell if the screens are glossy or matte? I rather get a Glossy screen because i like the looks and sleekness of it (I fell in love with my Mac display haha)

both are matte. I will try to find something else

ill probably just go with the original asus. I guess i don't mind matte too much. One more thing, I don't know if you would know this though. Would i be able to play games on one of the monitors and leave the other one free with a R9 390? or would i have to crossfire?

MSI. Also, I wouldnt be using the monitors as "one". They would be two different monitors. I don't know if that would make a difference

The MSI one has 2 DVI ports. That's what i need. Will i experience performence issues if i connect two monitors to the card?

If you meant the VG248QE, then I'd rather recommend you either the BenQ XL2411Z or even better LG 24GM77. The VG248QE has "pretty bad" colors and has PWM(so if you're like me it will be straining your eyes). The plus of the LG is that it has pretty nice colors for a TN - review, it's not as customizable as the BenQ, but imo considering the better colors I'd say go for the LG. If you were talking about the cheaper asus then never mind - but if I were you I'd still get an ips over a TN if you're not going for 60hz+ anyways.
And then you've got a 3rd option - there are plenty of monitors that sport either a full 1920*2=3840 pixels on the X axis(UHD - 3840 × 2160) - basically what you'll get with the 2 monitors in terms of width, but with bonus in height too - or if you prefer there are also smaller ultra wide models. And you can find such monitors even for around 500$ (2*VG248QE price=500$).
Basically for the money you'll pay for 2 VG248QE monitors you can get either a pretty nice gaming one(with a little less pixels on the X axis) - example: mg279q, xl2730Z etc., or an UHD.

There may be a deal somewhere - in my country at least the Asus and the BenQ are at equal pricing, though I still think a single monitor would be better(either an UHD or QHD, or maybe even a ultra wide one - there are a couple of those at 500$).

This may come in handy if you dislike PWM - list

my favorite is the ROG SWIFT.. I have one... colors are great for a TN .. but I am a gamer and ha. d the money.. ULMB is smooth as silk.. 120 fps in games at 1440p is AMAZING!!!!! but a budget is a budget and I understand that. I saved for more than a year to get my system..........
