New Monitor suggestions please

Solution
Yep. PG279Q or the older PG278Q, a bit more expensive, but do have G-sync. Acer has a few on offer that use the same LCD Panel. XB270HU and XB271HU if I have the model number right.

If you don't want G-Sync the monitor you picked will still work.

Actually the quality on these AU Optronic panels varies a lot. Light bleed and discoloration are common with the IPS displays. The older ones with the TN panel don't have the nice colors, but tend to have a lot more uniformity.
Freesync 1440p 27". That's a nice monitor. That's a freesync monitor and your using an Nvidia card. You want a GSync monitor.

I've had great luck with Asus monitors. Reliable and priced right. I own 3, plus another 10 or so at the office. I've read similar stories in the forums with people generally having good reliability with Asus monitors.

I like the PG279Q, a bit over budget but I can wait a bit for it!

Be prepared to be slightly disappointed is all I have to say. Very few of the monitors can be said to be 'perfect' light bleed and discoloration are quite common. Particularly the lower right corner, it is usually brighter then the rest of the monitor.

My particular monitor tends toward yellow on the right and blue on the left.

That said, when the monitor is actually displaying a full screen application it is not that noticeable, and the screen performs as expected.

I would avoid open-box monitors. What ASUS considers a passing grade is well below what some people expect out of such an expensive product.

Thanks for the advice, will defo keep it in mind.
