I am getting a new mobo (gigabyte 970a-ud3p) as i'm having some problems with vrms on my current pile of crap mobo (ASUS M5A78L-M LX3) and im wondering, will i be able to boot straight away from my hardrive, or will i have to reinstall the os? i am using windows 10.

Solution
windows 10 seems getting smarter.

I recently upgrade my OEM i5-750 platform to 6700k platform.

I was planning a reinstallation of my OS and maybe purchasing a new key since mine is OEM.

However, after plug in my system hard drive to the new platform and turn on the machine.

The windows 10 was able to boot straight away without a glitch, though the first boot take significantly longer time.

I also checked my windows activation and found that the OS is activated!!!

Lucky for me!
