I'm currently running an x58 OC'd q6600 with 8gigs of ddr2 800 memory. I'm due for a new build, but I want to make it as future proof as possible as I want to keep up with the times, maybe in a year I'll re-upgrade certain items. I don't want the new lga2011.
I'd like to go for a gen3 board:
ASrock Z68 extreme7: I like this board because it provides pci 3.0 with dual 16x lane.
are dual pcie lanes at 16x that important? especially, of I want to keep the board as long as possible.
are there any boards that have the dual lanes at 16x that is a bit cheaper?
I was thinking about my build like this:
Corsair 600t case
12GB of ddr3 1600 low cas (7 maybe)
motherboard?
i7 2600k or 2700k depending on price
GTX 560ti x 2 this, or buy 1 and wait to sli with the new Kepler gpu.
120gb ssd
1tb 7200 64mb cache hdd or 2 500s in raid0
noctua nh-c14 CPU cooler
