Can my XP OS disk that came with my Dell Demension Computer work on my Dell inspiron that has the Vista OS. I need XP for to access my office computer remotely and Vista seems to be unstable.

Yes. You should read up on "Dual Booting"

The disk should install, but you need to get an XP license for the second computer, the key that's on the Demension is only for that PC. I have found that OEM disks tend to work pretty well cross-model. Your best bet is to check if the Inspiron has Windows 7 drivers, and buy an upgrade or OEM copy of that to use instead of XP.
