I really hate mail in rebates. I sometimes refuse to buy a product if it has a mail in rebate attached. We live in an age of computers for f**k sakes. How hard could it possibly be to bypass mail in rebates with computer transactions? BRUTAL!

Mail in rebates allow them to ignore your mail for a couple of weeks. Hire an overworked intern to enter your data. Wait for 2 more weeks to validate. Wait some more to see if you'll follow up. Send the approved items to a check clearance center where they'll wait a couple weeks before giving your check to the Post Office...Then the real waiting can begin! All this time they have your money.

Bonus, you might forget to send in the rebate!

Sorry, but the "Onyx" name reminds me way too much of their "Obsidian" budget DRAM name, of which I've had to RMA 3 out of 4 kits (and 2 of the replacement kits had to be RMA'd as well). SSD DRAM, see the correlation? I'm justifiably skeptical of the reliability of these drives but I will wait until I see some credible reviews before I pass further judgment.
