New Partition changed the rest of my partitions to dynamic.

Greetings. Today I was trying to add an additional partition to test Ubuntu on my pc. However after I changed the unallocated space to a partition, the rest changed from basic to dynamic. I do not know what the consequences in my system will be, so could someone enlighten me in that matter?

you can only create three partitions on a single HDD. as long as there are 3 partitions it is a basic drive. when you try to create more partitions than 3 the drive gets converted to a Dynamic drive. you cannot install an OS or boot an OS from a Dynamic disk unless there was an OS before the drive got converted to a dynamic one.

the only way to reverse this is to fully erase everything on the drive and start fresh. though there are programs that can do the job without the need to erase...but they require cash...

My HDD originally had these 4 partitions.All of them used to be basic before I attempted to make a new one.
I deleted the new one. Except the recovery partition the rest of them turned dynamic.

My pre-installed windows 7 will still boot? I need to be sure so I can backup everything without pressure.

Thanks! Partition wizard did the trick. All my partitions are back to normal except the recovery partition which is now labeled unallocated space. Oh well, I'll configure system restore later. Now the only problem is how to make a basic partition for ubuntu without deleting the preexisting partitions.
