Hello all I'm looking for a little advice/guidance on a new PC build I plan to undertake.
Approximate Purchase Date: I hope to have the machine built by the end of August but some recent unexpected Auto expenses may push that date a bit further back.
Budget Range: I’d like to build the base machine and use some of what I have on hand as a stop gap. All told I intend to spend between $1500 and $2000 but a good portion of that will be in the future on displays. ‘d like to spend between $500 and $1000 putting a tower together that has room for expansion in the future
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Light gaming. Mostly WoW, D3,LoL, DOTA 2, and CIv 5
Are you buying a monitor: Not immediately, no. I have two respectable displays that I will be using until I purchase a touchscreen/second monitor
Parts to Upgrade: Outside ofa hard drive I would prefer all new internal parts.
Do you need to buy OS: No, I have a windows 8.1 license available
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference but I do have Amazon Prime
Location: Northern Virginia, US
Parts Preferences: I am partial to Intel and Nvidia but am not averse to AMD/ATI
Overclocking: Maybe in the future
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, but I would like the option
Your Monitor Resolution: My current monitors are 1680x1050 but I will be upgrading to 1980x1080 and possibly 1980x1200
Additional Comments: I want an efficient and minimalist case.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My last desktop went down due to age while I was on a hiatus from gaming. My laptop will run the games that I play but very poorly and I’d rather play on a desktop anyways.
Include a list of any parts you have already selected with descriptively labeled links for parts.
The only part that I’ve really looked into was the CPU and the one I’ve been eyeing is http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637i53570
I was also looking at the 3570k but could see enough of a difference to justify the $20 increase in price.
