Hello,

I am assembling a new computer (first one after a 8 year break - been using laptops in the meanwhile) and thought I might ask the suggestion from the other users here. Use of this PC is for the following softwares -

- programming (c, c++)
- matlab
- solidworks CAD modeling
- ansys simulations (if i end up getting back to any analysis)
- Adobe CS6 (will run on this machine)

Here is what I have so far (I already have the components that i have not selected in the list).

Monitor - previously purchased from woot.com (2x 3d monitors)
Windows 7 OS - already have a CD
purchase locations - primarily online

Do you need to buy OS: No

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe - not sure if I understand this or need it.

Additional Comments: Quiet PC - need it primarily for running engineering simulations and 3D rendering after the simulations are done.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: New build, was restricted to laptops for almost 8 years now.

Thanks for the response, but I added the video card for displaying my output to two monitors (VPN to work is a royal pain if I do not use two monitors).
