Hello guys, I bought a motherboard bundle, CPU mobo and RAM, I have just built it yesterday, the first time i powered it up it came to the screen where it says GIGABYTE across the middle of the screen and press F12 for menu, DEL for bios etc.

I was pressing everything i could to no response, after 5-6 seconds it would go beyond that with a blue screen and GIGABYTE UEFI DUAL BIOS written at the top of the screen then it would restart and do the same thing over and over.

I have a USB keyboard and mouse, so I thought maybe it won't recognise it before booting? So i borrowed a PS2 keyboard from my dad and still no response. Now for some reason i don't see the bios page where it says press f12 for boot menu etc, it just goes straight to the blue screen with the writing across the top and constantly restarts.

I disconnected everything i could, including checking the CPU and fan was on properly as this all came together, put everything back together and still the same. I've tried booting with no HDD connected, with no DVD drive connected, tried removing the battery for 15 mins and clearing cmos, and still getting the same thing. I'm experienced with computers but i'm completely baffled. Anybody got any ideas?

Motheborard is Gigabyte GA-F2A78m-HD2

Thanks

Solution
With USB keyboards try a usb 2 port on the back of the motherboard, and not USB 3... Try these options below as well...

Method #1:
1. Shut your PC down
2. Hold the power button until the PC starts and shuts down again
3. Press the power button again, your backup BIOS should kick in now and should re-flash the main BIOS if there's anything wrong with it.

Method #2:
1. Shut your PC down
2. Hold the power AND the reset button for about 10 sec, than release.
3. Backup BIOS should kick in anytime soon now.

Post back with updates.

Hi bud, thanks for your reply.

I have tried the hold the power button before, still with no luck. Hadn't tried the hold power and reset before though, but still no luck. I have literally tried everything i can think of and come across on the web. Only solution i can think is the motherboard is faulty. Could it be the RAM, CPU or PSU? I'm going to take it back this morning and see if they can try a different stick of RAM or CPU whilst i wait.

Same stuff happened to me with a Gigabyte board, On my dad's PC actually. Pc was slow as hell and had lots of weird services/processes in task manager, even slow to shutdown !! He had all kinds of malwares on his windows os ''He's an old man and he probbly click YES to any popups on the net lol''... So i decided to install Debian and create him a user ''Non root'' so he doesn't f**k up everything again lol. Prepared my usb stick with Debian installer on MY pc than came back to his place and boom!! Not even able to boot the pc! Boot looping, Won't even get to the bios screen. Tried New ram, Other PSU, Disconnected all pci devices, new disk drive ''disconnected secondary sata device'' and still nothing! I don't recall the MB model # but its a 2 yrs old model, was working fine for 2 yrs .. and my pop's don't stress the cpu/gpu at all, he's the kind of guy that browse the net once in a while only so I doubt it's a faulty unit. Plus i've inspected the MB quickly with a magnifying glass and didn't found any signs of shortcuts or overheated components.
Do you guys have any other ideas on what could be the issue here ?

Thanks

Chris
