Hi Everyone,

Just built my first PC and running into some issues. I've completed a clean install of Windows via the Windows Media Creation tool through USB. In the install wizard, I selected my SSD to boot the install.

I am now trying to update my OS before installing any drivers, but the moment I connect to the internet and start updating my Windows OS, my computer shuts down. When it restarts it shows the BIOS screen but when it boots via the SSD nothing shows up and my screen is blank. Below are my parts. Thanks for the help!

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
  • Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard
  • Asus GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB STRIX GAMING Advanced Video Card
  • Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

can you get into windows at all or just blank screen now?
If only blank, you might want to reinstall again, and update the GPU drivers first before updating windows?
might help to download them and install off USB.

its just a guess its the GPU drivers.
Do you have newest BIOS on motherboard?

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and did a system restore and reinstalled windows. I also used Display Port instead of HDMI to connect my GPU to my Monitor and it worked!
