CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (maybe 3600x not too sure yet)

CPU Cooler: Stock Wraith Cooler if not overclocking

Motherboard: Asus PRIME X570-P ATX AM4 Motherboard

Storage: Western Digital Blue 1 TB 3.5"

Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB WINDFORCE OC Video Card or MSI GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card (some help finalizing this would be nice)

Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: Corsair CX (2017) 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (not fully sure about this)

The motherboard has an extra 4-pin connector but the PSU doesn't. I researched a bit online and people said the extra 4-pin is really only needed for extreme overclocking. But I wanted to double-check for this build.

Is there anything I can improve on or change for a better overall build. Also, which video card should I go with from the two? Lastly, any help with the power supply is appreciated.

If you're not going to be doing extreme overclocking, a B450 board would be good enough. X570 boards really should only be used if you're thinking of anything Ryzen 7 and above.

I was previously looking at a B450 board (something like B450 Gaming Plus Max).

The reason I was hesitant with picking this is because I've seen a lot of threads online where people first had to update their BIOS on the B450 in order to use something like a Ryzen 3600. Which first required an older generation Ryzen to update BIOS.

Although the product description and manufacture website both say the B450 Gaming Plus supports Ryzen 3-rd gen, I wasn't fully sure. If I go with the B450 Gaming Plus Max (if its a good choice), will the 3600 work out-of-the-box?

If you want a good B450, the MSI TOMAHAWK is probably your best choice. It can handle some decent overclocking and is compatible with the 3600 out of the box:

In terms of colour scheme, I'd suggest the Gigabyte works better because black works with nearly anything

Ok then I'll switch the motherboard out for the MSI TOMAHAWK and go with the Gigabyte card.

That should be good enough. You won't really need gold unless you're going to be overclocking a lot or leaving it on for extended periods of time.

I also saw that RAM wasn't mentioned. Have you already got that sorted?

The boot speed is shown as 2400MHz but the motherboard manual does show it supports speeds of 3000MHz through A-XMP OC MODE.

What is your max budget?

I really wouldn't recommend a build without a SSD, even a lower end 240gb SSD would be a big improvement over a HDD and if you swap to a B450 board (that supports 3rd gen out of the box) you should have the extra cash for one.

@Gragy Magnum , The MSI MAX boards support 3rd gen right out of the box so no issues there. For the memory make sure it is in the correct slots so you can enable XMP. XMP sets the memory at the correct speed, voltage & timings, you'll want to do this as AMD Ryzen performs significantly better with fast memory so it's important to get it to run at the correct speed.

I wouldn't go with a 5700XT, a 2060 Super is better imo. The OP also said that they didn't like silver, so that rules out the MSI Mech

In most titles the 5700 XT will outperform the 2060 Super, especially with driver improvements but I could understand going Nvidia for PhysX & Ray Tracing.

Same performance as Hellfire13 build. But improved quality and faster SSD.
I included top of the line PSU which is bit expensive but will save you money next time you upgrade as this will be great for at-least 1-2 upgrades over time.
Faster and more reliable SSD. But well you can do off with SAMSUNG 860Evo at cheaper price.

In terms of budget, I am looking at most at $1500 Canadian.

I looked back at the overall price and you're right. There's still some room in the budget so I'll switch out for some SSD's.

I can also go with the G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory, save some money here and get a higher rated power supply. Like the one linked by @King Dranzer

I didn't expect this many people to respond so I wasn't really sure who to reply back to.

I'll also take a look at the 5700 XT and see what that offers (haven't looked at it before).

In terms of the memory, if I remember correctly, it was slots A2 and B2 where it should be installed. This should hopefully allow the XMP profiles to work correctly.
