New Pc build

Hi i am at that moment where I'd like to build a new PC, or at least major upgrades.

Current pc is
Intel i7 3770k oc 4.5ghz air cooled with coolermaster v8
Asus rog 1070 strix 8 gb
Samsumg SSD 850pro 256 gb
Hdd 1TB (low cost thing)
2x8 corsair 1600mhz ram
Asus p8z68-v gen3 motherboard

What am planning on transferring to my new pc is
SSD, HDD, GPU, and cooler (if it fits)
The old SSD wil not be the main drive, want the 970PRO 500 gb

Below i will link the components i choose, but i am in little doubt if this will be a decent system.
Tell me what i should change and why.
Or is this just a good build.

Unless the 3770K@4.5ghz is underperforming (it shouldn't be) you have a really nice gaming system as is.

Have you considered a monitor upgrade instead?

Your system would pair well with a 2560x1080/144hz+/IPS/Gsync or 3440x1440/100hz+/IPS/Gsync.

Nvme isn't really necessary and can get double storage for a little bit more cost with standard M.2
And the smaller SSD you already have would be better as you're main boot drive with OS and use the 1TB for all your games and stuff.

But your choice really.

And the gigabyte board is comparable in quality but for less money.

If interested in a Ryzen build I can put one of those together for you if you like.

If I'm completely honest it's not underperforming and i have a 4k monitor, 60hz and the games i play go on full graphics on 4k at 60fps.

But you know, i just want something new, i still adore the 3770k cpu, i even pumped it to 4.9ghz and 85 degrees with my aircooler (brought it back down again,just wanted to see how far i could push it)
Just want a system that can handle my stuff again for the next 7-9 years, because this pc is rather old (except the gpu,cooler amd the ssd)

To be honest that gigabyte card looks good,but i'm bit of an asus rog fanboy (not ashamed to admit it )
So i'll stick with that mobo i chose.
But the 1tb SSD you linked Looks promising to be honest, i might go for that!
1 question tho, that tower.. why? You got experience with this tower? I wasn't set on the tower yet,it was just an average tower i chose with average pricing to see the total cost.
I want a neat and clean looking tower with maybe RGB in it, but most importantly i want to do good cable management, i hate sloppy looking towers, thats why i want m.2 SSD, gets rid of extra cables
And probably later on put water cooling in it.

The total cost of your list is better then mine.

What i dont really understand is the choice of your RAM, it's slower and more expensive than the one i choose, or am i missing something..

I'd probably still recommend holding off for a little longer, AMD is finally putting up some excellent performance on the Ryzen CPU's and looks like not only will the 3rd Gen Ryzen come out next year but also Navi which may have a interesting effect on pricing as well as pushing Intel to further the performance gap.

Because for me, the RAM you have in your list cost's 146.04e and the ram I chose costs 132.90e.
Pretty sure the RAM I picked is cheaper and still RGB.

The speed of the RAM doesn't make hardly any difference. It's not like having 3200Mhz over 3000Mhz is going to get you any performance gains in anything other than RAM specific tasks and such tasks do not include gaming at all and in fact, 2400Mhz is perfectly fine with gaming on Intel since unlike Ryzen, the performance of your CPU isn't as directly linked to the speed of the RAM with Intel.
And even then, in those very specific programs and tasks, the extra 200Mhz isn't going to make much of a difference.

As for that case, it's sturdy build, has crazy support for fans and radiators for water cooling, is fantastic for cable management, has the glass to show off all your components and RGB inside, and has the added benefit of having a full mesh front. While not as flashy looking as a glass front panel, it offers much better air flow for your system.

And originally with the money saved on the motherboard, that's what allowed me to add it into the build without making the whole thing cost more than your initial build.

I would still highly recommend the Lian-Li over that other one you picked.

I'll break down the following build for you though.

-- 2400Mhz is all you need, so now you can get better priced RAM that also looks nicer.

-- Better case.

-- Same exact motherboard, just missing a couple of useless features. (but if interested in what those features are, just click here and scroll down)

-- 500GB M.2 SSD (again, standard SATA M.2 not NVMe for these reasons. Speed improvement negligible so you're not losing out on anything by just saving money with SATA3 SSD.)

-- PSU is cheaper (albeit only 2 euros, but they are the same in terms of quality so what's the harm in saving a couple eh?)

in addition to what I'm posting, I would personally recommend Ryzen for an upgrade instead of Intel though.
Can get a lot more for your money.
