Hello

I want to buy a new PC (yeah Christmas gift for myself).
I would use it for 2 main things 1. rendering in Solid Edge and 2. Gaming (obviously)
I have a little strict budget and I can't go higher from this config below:

Case:Cooler Master CM 690 III CMS-693-GWN1
Power S.: FSP 550W 80+ Raider II Silver
CPU:Intel Core i7-8700 BX80684I78700
Motherboard: Intel 1151 v2 MSI Z370 PC PRO
Memory: Kingston 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz HyperX Predator XMP
VGA: GeForce GTX1060 6GB DDR5 Dual
SSD:
Favor: Samsung 860 Evo 500Gb
Alternative:Kingston 480GB SA400S37/480G
HDD: Toshiba P300 2Tb
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-16PK-R1
Optical drive: LG GP57EB40 DVD

What do you think about this config? If you see some flaws please tell me.
/MSI Z370 Tomahawk was in my mind but my budget couldn't bear it.../

Thank you for your efforts!

Solution
no no, the lg slots into the optical disk drive bay which is a 5.25" form factor. the connection for the optical drive is a sata connection in the mobo.

all optical drives are 5.25" ones. see the specifications for that LG drive here : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hC648d/lg-optical-drive-gh24nsd1

and i read ur post again n understood u were talking about 3d cad. if u want accurate renders and if ur rendering task takes a higher priority than gaming, u should get a quadro or radeon pro card. there is a high chance that u will get artifacts, blurry lines in ur cad if u r using a gaming gpu for cad rendering. gaming cards are optimised for performance not accuracy. see seimens nx and creo scores...

pretty good for editing and gaming. If you are editing 4k, then the 1060 may not be suitable for it, but if you are editing 1080p 60fps then its just fine. Good that you got an aftermarket cooler for the 8700. They have been known to thermal throttle on the stock cooler under load

For rendering and gaming, you should consider the ryzen 2700X in a Strix B450 mobo.

Is that optical drive an external one? Cuz the P300 doesn't have a 5.25" bay. If you want one, try the phanteks enthoo pro m or fractal design focus G.

If corsair txm,rmx or evga g2 /g3 /gq or seasonic gold rated ones are available I would take that.

Hello, yes the optical driver is external. But I was thinking is should get an internal one LG GH24NSD1 SATA
I'm a bit confused as I'm can't really understand it the P300 is 3.5" and the case has 7 x 3.5" space.
So what is the problem here?
(the intel-nvidia config is mandatory for me, meh I know but it has never disappointed me)
