I accidentally cleaned the disk during the Windows 10 installation and had to hold the power button to turn off the PC. Now the CPU LED is a solid white and the computer won't boot. It was working fine before I had to force the power off.

I am using an MSI - Z270 SLI ATX LGA1151 motherboard and an Intel - Core i7-7700K CPU

Any assistance is appreciated.

In case anyone comes to this topic later, I took out the motherboard from the case and had power then. Something in the case must have been grounding it. Everything was working after that.

CPU fans are on, so there's power (although I do have two additional fans that are not working). The monitor has no signal though, so I don't know how to get to the bios. The monitor is connected to the display port of the video card, and unfortunately I think that's the only way to connect it.

Time to go backwards then. Unplug EVERYTHING from your board except the cpu, one stick of ram and the CPU cooler. Use the video connections on your motherboard. See if you can get into BIOS like that. Start adding parts back in one at a time and see if it'll boot. Eventually you'll either find out what was causing the issue or it'll all work and you'll be good to go.

This may be a dumb question, but I'm new to this, so what do you mean by using the video connections on the motherboard? How would I access the BIOS without the video card in?

My monitor (Asus pg278q) only has a display port on it, that's what I mean, how would I be able to see anything for the BIOS?
