Question New pc or new cpu

Hi all I'm been wanting a new pc ever since the Ryzen came out but been told for now might be
easier just to get an intel and swap out my fx-8350
Which I know isn't great even when it was relased.

So what should I do buy a better cpu and swap it or go for a full pc teardown and uograde.

I have

Fx-8350
Gtx 1060 3gb
500gb hardrive
Win 10 pro I think deffo win 10
16gb ram vulcan I think it's called
Asrock 970m pro3 motherboard
650w psu

I know main things that drag my pc or the CPU and hardive.

Can anyone help.

Seems like a solid build, way better than mine. It would be easier to sell and upgrade CPU anyway. Good luck

Yeah cheers do you know if I can just swap cpu with out messing about with swapping montherboard too?

Either way the motherboard will need to be changed. The socket for the FX is AM3+, Intel and Ryzen both use sockets different to that so unless you go for another FX (maybe a better one) then mobo has to be changed too.

There are no better CPU’s for your current motherboard. All modern cpu’s will require a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM.

No worries cheers so in long might be worth just to go full ddr4 upgrade

Get a solid state drive and install a clean setup of Windows on that, will act like a new machine, at least as far as general speed goes. Won't help with gaming speed really but will for sure make a difference till you replace the CPU/Motherboard.
