Hello, so ive had this issue since ive gotten my new parts for a pc im building. the only things that im keeping from my old pc is my gpu, my ram, and some drives, other than that everything is new. when the parts arrived the other day, i set everything up on the motherboard box to test if anything was going to go wrong, and for whatever reason, it wouldnt post. i have an asus board and it would get stuck at the green light (boot) but it went through every other light just fine. i tried pretty much everything, i tried different display ports on my gpu, i tried clearing cmos, i think i reseated my ram, but for whatever reason it just wouldnt post. it would act as if for a second my monitor got a signal, because it would flash the no connection screen multiple times, as if it had a signal for like a second and then lost it. i dont know if i would need to flash my bios, i would assume not just because the board is an asus tuf gaming b660m-plus and the cpu is an i5 12400f. so after troubleshooting different things, i decided to return the motherboard and swap it out for a new one, just in case that was the problem. so i get the new board and set everything back up, and it posts. i dont know what was different but it just worked. then i turned it off, and unpluged the motherboard connector from the actual board itself, then i figured i should go into the bios just to make sure everything was looking good before completely disassembling it. so i plugged the connector back in, and it wouldnt post again, same exact issue as before. i made sure the connector was completely seated, made sure the gpu was fully seated, made sure no wires or anything was touching the pcb to short it or something, but it just wont post at all. i know the gpu and ram are fine because they are currently working in my original pc. im really at a loss for what could be wrong here and im looking for any help i can get, thank you in advance.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
please include the age of all parts, if they've been recycled from an older build.

Just a word of advice, please include spacing in your thread post since a wall of text often deters users from responding.

update: ive swapped out the mobo, cpu, and tested the psu with a multimeter and nothing is showing up wrong. im kind of out of ideas so im taking it to a friend who might be able to figure something out.

so ive tested it with just mobo, cpu, one stick of ram, and gpu, and same issue happens. i also put the mobo in the case on the standoffs just to see if it was a short somehow, and nothing changed. im kind of running out of ideas, my plan is see what this friend thinks, and then if he cant figure it out, take it to some kind of repair shop.

yeah. sound like an issue with one of the components. my guess would be the motherboard. but hard to test without another
Update: sorry it's taken me so long but I finally took it to a repair place. I took everything but my graphics card/ram, and the guy got it to consistently post and boot into the bios. He moved his graphics card to the bottom pcie slot and that let him get into the bios where he updated the bios from there. But here's the kicker, I go home and set everything up, and I still have the exact same issue. I tried my graphics card in both pcie slots, I even tried with a different graphics card and nothing changed. I tried with 4 sticks of ram, 2 sticks of ram, and 1 stick of ram and nothing. I don't see how there could possibly be a short going on because it's set up on the mobo box, and I've checked for metal touching things. So how can it be that my graphics card and ram work in my current rig, but not with all the new parts? I know it shouldn't be the new parts because the guy got it to post just fine at his shop. In completely befuddled.

what exact did you take to the shop? why didn't you take everything?

what connection did you use to connect to the monitor?
I took my mobo, CPU, psu, to the shop. The main reason I didn't bring my GPU and ram was because they are working completely fine in my current PC so I assumed they weren't the problem, and I didn't want to be without a system for a day or two, which in hindsight, wasn't a great idea. I'm connecting to my monitor via display port, and I'm using the same dp slot on my GPU that I use normally.
