Hello TH people. Time for a new PC. My knowledge is limited. I am shopping for an everyday PC with some gaming capabilities. Nothing too extreme. Any thoughts on this option?

Intel 12th Gen 6 core E-BUSINESS CLASS

Intel i5-12400 4.4Ghz 6 Core

Intel Original Fan

Asus H610 Chipset

16GB DDR4-3200

Build-in Intel UHD730 Video

500GB SSD

Windows 11 PRO

Integrated HD AUDIO

Integrated 10/100/1000 LAN

Micro-ATX Case

Appreciate any feeback

Quite bare bones, describes a lot of off the shelf office computers.

Intel integrated graphics is nothing special, and the 12400 comes with the smaller graphics chip. 12500 is a step up. Older games and a few low demand eSports titles will be playable, but newer demanding gaming titles will be out of reach.

Personally I would opt for a Ryzen 8600G based system today, but that depends on what you are wanting to spend. Or even an older Ryzen 5600G based system which will have far more graphics performance and be suitable for everyday tasks.

Thanks. I was shooting for $1,000 CDN, but maybe that's going to be too low.
Barely over 1K if your using a 1080p monitor the video card should do fine for gaming probably not max settings but playable. (EDIT settings will depend on the game)
You could drop the extra CPU cooler and use the stock one since the case has good airflow with the extra fans mounted in the front blowing in.

That's a great site. Thank you. I saw the

Excellent AMD Gaming/Streaming Build listed there for $1200 and it looks pretty good

I think the

Modest AMD Gaming Build is more inline with the budget

Now your a bit over 1300 with that build including the OS and a piece of crap power supply.

Better build at that price.
