Hello. I’ve recently made a new upgrade to my pc for the first time in 3 years or so. I have replaced the mobo, cpu and ram. (Msi gaming pro carbon ac z370i, i5 8600k,Corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz) once everything was plugged in it was turning off instantly, literally less then a second. I took the cpu fan (h100i) of and had a look at the cpu and mobo socket, looks ok. But when I plugged everything in it now won’t turn on at all. It’s been awhile since I’ve done any of this and was wondering how to go about troubleshooting. If there is a faulty part how do I know short of sending it to go check. Any advice will be useful (other parts if relevant , evga 1000w psu, gtx 970, 1tb HDD, 500gb SSD, 1 disc drive)

So, I have undone everything. Took The mobo out of the case and tired plugging in the bare basics. Won’t turn on, tried plugging everything in one at a time and testing but it won’t do anything. Another look at the socket and it looks like there is some missing pins but I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like that or not. I’m willing to try it again if somebody can tell me what the minimum requirements to get it to at least turn on are. Otherwise I’m pretty sure the mobo must be fault. I have never had a bad part so I have no idea how to RMA something. And is there a way to be absolutely sure that it is the mobo failing ?
