Hi all. I just built a new PC and all seems well so far but the BIOS lists SATA 3_2 as empty though one of my HDDs is connected. It doesn't show my optical drive at all, which sucks considering I only have a DVD to install Windows from.
Is it most likely that rather than something catastrophic, I just need to reseat the cables or something? Is this common? Or is it possible my motherboard doesn't have all 8 SATA ports enabled by default? It's an ASRock Z790 Pro RS WiFi. Thanks for your advice :)

First you should only have your OS/boot drive connected when installing windows.
Most motherboards disable sata ports when a M.2 drive is installed in the #2,3, or#4 position.
Only M.2 #1 is connected to CPU. The others share ports with SATA/PCIE devices.
Check your manual for this.
