Hi all, currently looking at a PC to replace my (now) current build I've had since 2013 (with some parts upgraded in 2016). How is it, is everything good?

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700F Comet Lake 2.9GHz (4.8GHz Turbo) 8-Core 16-Thread For optimal gaming
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 12GB (Brand May Vary)
  • Motherboard: Intel B460M (Brand May Vary)
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz (2x8GB)
  • SSD: 1TB Intel 660P M.2 NVMe SSD
  • CPU Cooler: RGB CPU Cooler
  • PSU: 600W 80 Plus Gold
  • Case: DEEPCOOL MATREXX 50 ADD-RGB 4F Mid-Tower Case 4x120mm ADD-RGB Fans, Full-size Tempered Glass Side And Front Panel

Yes, I'm ware building your own is cheaper but due to shortages, scalpers, etc, its just not feasible currently to build one hence why I'm going with prebuilt this time around.
Also would love to stay in the $1500 budget.

Thanks for any advice. :)

There's no way of knowing what PSU is being bundled with the prebuilt but the specs to the build look good, somewhat, I'd look for a B560 motherboard and DDR4-3200MHz ram kit.

True about the PSU. I usually build which lets you know what you got/get but thank the current GPU situation for that.

About the motherboard, I found the same build but with the B560 instead and a smaller SSD (512GB vs 1GB) which I can live with since I don't keep alot of games installed at one time.

Specs look decent.

A flag for me would be a 600w psu.
pre builts may use cheap psu units, I see most good units specified as 550/650/750w.
Be prepared to buy a quality replacement with a 7-10 year warranty.

A second concern would be the 21% of newegg reviews that are 1 egg.

Forgot about this thread, oops! I went ahead and bought the pc in the SECOND link. It has better reviews and what not I think.

Everything is running fine and dandy. This build is a big step-up from my old one which was a i5 6500 and 1060 6GB. Currently runs everything maxed or near maxed. Had the BF 2042 beta on high settings getting 80+ fps for example.

All in all, pretty happy with it. :)

Did you check out the PSU? As you've built before, it's something easy and relatively inexpensive to deal with if you get a mediocre one.

I have not yet. And due to how the tower is, it pretty much covers up any type of label that you could see without taking everything apart. I'll check later on it. My old PC has an Antec NEO 620W 80 bronze certified that is still running like a champ. Although I'll still buy a new 1 incase the one in the new PC goes out. The Antec one I've had since 2013.

both prebuilts you sent are pretty much the same thing except less storage on the SSD on the second one and the first one was a bit more specific on parts

You should go for an 80+ 650W gold just to be safe. Corsair is usually a good option
