[SOLVED] New Processor for Computer

I currently have a GTX 960 4 gb graphics card and an AMD FX-6300 six core processor. I wanted to upgrade my processor to something that can play high demanding games, but I'm not entirely sure what processor to get that works well with my 960 and won't bottleneck it.

There isn't a worthwhile upgrade for an AM3 motherboard. You will have to replace motherobard/CPU/RAM as a set to get a significant upgrade.

If you post your MB model I think you might get much better answers.

...and I don't think the AMD should be bottle necking it much now.

i figured i needed to do all that and am willing to do so. im just not sure what type of processor to buy

They ryzen 3 2200g is a superb choice, I own it as a placeholder and it’s quite mighty for only $100 in the US. You can get a cheaper AM4 mobo for $70, and get some good ram too (above 2666 MHz for ryzen). Also look into ryzen 3000 when it comes out.
