New processor with older cooler?

Take the word "older" lightly because what I mean is I bought a hyper d92 fro my 2600k in 2014 before skylake was out. Now, I plan on getting a i5 6600 but I don't know if I can carry my cooler over to the next build. I appreciate your help. thank you.

It'll fit - LGA 1155/1150/1151 all use the same mounting holes.
