Hello!

I recently got a new RAM because the previous one had one stick not working. I use to have a G Skill TRIDENT Z and I am now using a CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO. (both are 2x8GB 3200MGh)

Using my new RAM, I am getting "Aw, Snap" errors when opening Google Docs. This sometimes also leads to a blue screen and my computer restarts. Also, when I play games like Far Cry 5, it stops>black screen>static screen>desktop>restarts.

Blue Screen Text"

"🙁

Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.
We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you."

Any advice? Pretty new to PCs so Id really love the help!

I have Corsair Vengeance LPX in my own system - mated to a Gigabyte X570 UD motherboard which works fine for me. A 16GB set of Corsair RAM will have "16" as the first number. As you can see by the model that you currently have: It starts "CMW16." My model starts "CMK16." Gigabyte lists "CMK64GX4M4B3200C16" as a 16GB pair but it is 16GB X 4. So I have been trying to find something in the QVL that shows correctly as 8X2 rather than 16X4.
I hope your not mixing RAM modules from differing kits and especially from two different manufacturers.
If so then that's not a good idea and you most likely have a mismatch. Even RAM with the same identical specs can have differing Latency.
Clear CMOS and just install one module of the Vengeance kit in the appropriate slot for testing (as per your Manual)
Your GSkill kit have a lifetime Warranty so RMA.

Hi!

Thank you for the advice. But I am not using one G Skill and One Vengeance. I totally replaced the G skil with 2 vengeance RAM sticks so, in the slot its both vengeance, not one g skill and one vengeance. Did i understand your message correctly? :)

OK Understood. Did you clear your CMOS? This will bring Bios back to default as values will be retained from your previous settings.
What version Bios are you at? It is advisable to update Bios as new RAM releases come out.
Also with this kind of issue, I'ts best to list your full system specs.

Stephanie021518 welcome to the forum. In order for you to get the proper advice, we need you to tell us what each of your individual components are, such as motherboard model, processor, etc. We will also need to know which slots that you placed your RAM into.

Hi @MeanMachine41

I am not sure how to clear CMO, also not sure how to check which bios version I am on.

Hello @Juan_Bijero
Computer Specs:

Motherboard: B450 I Auros Pro Wifi
RAM: Previous (G Skill Trident Z) Now (Corsair Vengenace Pro)
PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum Power Supply Unit 650W
Graphics Card: Gigabyte RX 580
HDD & SSD: Seagate 2TB Skyhawk & Crucial P1 M.2
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600

I really appreciate your help :)

You will need to return your RAM and purchase a different set of RAM modules that are on that list. It looks like the 3000 MHZ version is on the list. I would try that.
Oh, I see. Alright, thanks for your help!

Is this build a brand new build?
Sorta, I had someone build it for me sometime in June 2020. But one of RAM G skills stopped working so I had to replace the RAM, did not know about QVL lists when i bought the replacement Vengeance.

You are welcome. Although there is nothing wrong with the particular RAM you purchased per se, the motherboard is limited so it will not work together. Since your motherboard only has two slots you need to have RAM module that work with only 2 slots.

This is the Corsair RAM that will probably be the best: CMK64GX4M4B3200C16 which I believe is Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM. Check that this is 64 megs you need 16. This QVL list is mixed up. Not a good sign Gigabyte.
