Hello!

I recently got a new RAM because the previous one had one stick not working. I use to have a G Skill TRIDENT Z and I am now using a CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO. (both are 2x8GB 3200MGh)

Using my new RAM, I am getting "Aw, Snap" errors when opening Google Docs. This sometimes also leads to a blue screen and my computer restarts. Also, when I play games like Far Cry 5, it stops>black screen>static screen>desktop>restarts.

Blue Screen Text"

"🙁

Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.
We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you."

Any advice? Pretty new to PCs so Id really love the help!

Solution
I have Corsair Vengeance LPX in my own system - mated to a Gigabyte X570 UD motherboard which works fine for me. A 16GB set of Corsair RAM will have "16" as the first number. As you can see by the model that you currently have: It starts "CMW16." My model starts "CMK16." Gigabyte lists "CMK64GX4M4B3200C16" as a 16GB pair but it is 16GB X 4. So I have been trying to find something in the QVL that shows correctly as 8X2 rather than 16X4.

Alright, ill get to it. Thanks Again for your help and inputs 😀

Hi @MeanMachine41

I am not sure how to clear CMO, also not sure how to check which bios version I am on.

CMOS is a semi conductor that retains information about you systems hardware.
One simple way to clear CMOS is to remove the CMOS battery (CR2032) From the Motherboard for 10mins to allow the capacitors enough time to deplete. You can also use the CMOS pins to clear your Bios. (refer to your manual)

At Juan. This is NOT Stephanies Motherboard. his/her motherboard is https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450-I-AORUS-PRO-WIFI-rev-10#kf

There is a kit on the QVL that should suit Stephanies needs and have been tested. CMR16GX4M2C3000C15 ver5.30 and available from Newegg howeverwhat exists may work with correct Timings and voltage.

Your Bios update is F51 and available here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450-I-AORUS-PRO-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios

I was advised to clear my CMOS as well (@MeanMachine41) I did some research on this and found out I had to switch something on the motherboard. I might give it a try to see if it will fix the RAM, but if its not on the QVL list idk... hmmm
Clearing CMOS is simple and can be done in two ways. One is to use the CMOS jumper pins on the MB and method two is to take out the CMOS battery for 10mins. It is branded (CS2032) a silver disk on the MB. Only do this when you have powered down the MB.
If you do not feel comfortable doing this then take it to a computer technician. He will be able to test the RAM you have and clear your CMOS.
Get him/her to try and get your current RAM to work or try the RAM kit I listed and return the others.
