Hello! I have recently bought a 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 MHz ram stick. It is compatible with my motherboard (MSI B350 Gaming), however, after using it for 4 hours my PC BlueScreens with the error: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I have tried to search it up, looked at the causes and I thought ok, im going to update my drivers, maybe that's the issue, well... not. My second try was to run memtest86+ and check the ram stick alone, all tests passed, 0 errors. Great I thought, the ram isn't faulty! So I tried to restart my pc and try to use it... blue screen again. I have no idea what else to do. I have two sticks of 4 GB of the same brand same speed and they work just fine in slots 2 & 4 no crashes no nothing, but when I put this ram stick in alone, it crashes. Is there anything else I can do?
[I want to add to this, the CLI timings are the same on all sticks, 16 16 16 39]

Edit: I will upload a minidump as soon as i get another bsod. i couldn't wait for the last bsod because i had to quickly swap my ram and get back into class

Edit2: im now using the old 8GB that i know worked, but my monitor loses connection, saying there is no video output, only a PC restart fixes this. I checked with a VNC before i restarted to see if there is still image and there wasn't. I think this is a GPU Driver issue? man i hate nvidia :/

Edit3: i will be updating my bios and the nvidia drivers today, hopefully it helps

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

We're going to need a little more information. Can you please list the specs to your system like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS: version of Windows 10, assuming you're on Windows 10

Include the age of your PSU apart from it's make and model. Can you also mention if you're mixing and matching sticks of ram? If so, please stop. Use only the rams in a kit as an upgrade. You will also need to state what slots you've used to populate the rams on the motherboard.

The slots should be labelled A2 and B2, for a dual channel ram kit to drop in to the motherboard. When you say slot 2 and 4, which side do you start from left or right? It's for this reason that the slots are designated an alphanumeric moniker.

I apologize for not including my full PC specs!

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x
Motherboard: MSI B350 Gaming Plus
Ram: 8 GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 (not running xmp) slots A2 B2 (from left to right)
SSD/HDD: ADATA 500GB SSD, Barracuda 1TB HDD
GPU: GTX 970
PSU: (i honestly do not remember the brand, but its a known brand) 450W
Chassis: Titan Genessis 3? ( i dont remember)
OS: Windows 10 Version 2004

You are right, I shouldn't be mixing ram, which I didn't for my previous statement but anyway now there's a new issue 🙁

After removing the not working 16 GB stick, and putting back the 8GB kit, my gpu stops outputting signal, this did NOT happen before i plugged in the 16 GB stick. On both occasions i have cleared the CMOS and loaded default values (when switching rams). I have updated my bios to the latest version and my graphic drivers to the latest one aswell! I have no idea what's causing the GPU crash 🙁 because the screen just goes blank and i need to hard reset in order to make it work again for like 1-2 hours

Edit: upon looking in event viewer at software & hardware errors, i have found that the nvidia drivers have crashed
Here are a few errors:
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" (this is a complete lie smh)
"A pointer device has no information about the monitor it is attached to."
"Disk 3 has been surprise removed." (this happens every time it chrashes)
Here I power off the machine
"The driver \Driver\vkrnlintvsp failed to load for the device ROOT\VKRNLINTVSP\0000."
"The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SPACEDESK_VIRTUAL_HID_DEVICE\0000."

(nvm this is spacedesk app after reboot)

I have the latest drivers for my gpu now, and what I dont understand is why do the gpu drivers crash if all i did was swap my ram from 8 -> 16 -> 8 ???

New update on the situation!
Got new errors in event viewer and I am panicking really hard now, as i have classes tomorrow and need this PC to work 🙁

New errors (In order of occurrence):
  • Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
  • The Desktop Window Manager process has exited. (Process exit code: 0xe0464645, Restart count: 1, Primary display device ID: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970)
  • The Desktop Window Manager process has exited. (Process exit code: 0xe0464645, Restart count: 2, Primary display device ID: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970)
  • Disk 3 has been surprise removed.
  • The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. (me forcefully shutting down PC)

Also there is now a 50/50 chance that my pc will boot into a black screen or into windows. IDK who to hate more at this point, nivida or windows xd [I have uninstalled spacedesk in the meanwhile]

Update 2.

Gpu stops sending signal now and there are 0 errors in event viewer related to the GPU or drivers now

Update 3.

I think i managed to fix the black screen, but the memory issues still remains...
(I fixed black screen by uninstalling drivers using DDU and installing a older version of the drivers)

For my 16 GB ram stick that gives me MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD (and corrupts my graphic drivers) what should I do? What tools can I use to narrow down the real issue?
