New ram help?

I have just bought a new ram kit which is a 2x2gb (4gb) patriot g series 1600mhz pc3-12800 low latency RAM and i put it into my asrock n68c-s ucc motherboard i made sure the power cable was removed when i put the new ram in the board, when i go to boot up the computer just stays on a black screen.
any ideas?? i know that its most likely a compatability issue but i wanted to make sre before i send it back.

OK GUYS JUST FOUND OUT I MAY NEED A NEW CPU TO GO WITH THIS RAM IM SUCH A NOOB LOL WELL WE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES DONT WE??
