Hi all, I recently got some new ram for my computer due to having some serious lag when working in both Photoshop and Premiere. My computer works fine with the new ram, but it only runs at 2666mhz and the ram is rated at 4400mhz. When I go into bios and try to run the X.M.P. profile 1(there is only 1 xmp profile available) which is set for 4400mhz, timing 19-26-26-46, and 1.50v, my computer goes on a boot cycle. It will do this continuously for about 5 min or so, until my bios comes up on its own at ask me to boot from default settings. According to Gigabyte my motherboard is capable of running up to 4400mhz ddr4. I'm curious if anyone knows why my motherboard wont allow me to run ram at this speed? thanks all
Also, I have tried manually setting the speed, timing and volts , with the same results.
System Specs:
Windows 11
motherboard: Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Master
i9 9900k o.c. 5ghz
64 gb g.skill tridentZ 4400mhz
Evga RTX3090ftw
Evga 850w power supply

It's 2 sets of G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4400 (PC4 35200) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-4400C19D-32GTZR
If they weren't bought as a x4 kit you could run into the issues you're experiencing. Check the version number on the different sticks.

You might also try lowering your OC on CPU.

Also, your CPU has 2666mhz RAM as spec. Anything over that is not guaranteed

Thanks, I'll do that.

No luck, I tried with a set in a1/b1 and a set in a2/b2 and also tried a1/a2 and b1/b2, I also tried pulling 2 of the sticks out and running XMP and still same issue. Thanks for the suggestions

Sometimes RAM just doesn't run at advertised speed, especially with 4 sticks. I had some Corsair RAM that was supposed to run at 3200MHz and I was never able to get it to run at 3200, but it has been running for years trouble free at 3000.

did you adjust the timing and volts when you set the ram speed?
