Can i buy any RAM module to work on my laptop. It has 4GB module. I want to upgrade to 8GB. Does it matter if there is a frequency is different of the modules. And what is SODIMM type? My earlier version is a SODIMM Crucial RAM.

Hello... 1) You can open up your memory bay on your laptop and read the info on your current RAM for specs.
2) Determine how many memory slots are available for your hardware... Sometimes there are only one slot.
3) SO-DIMM is the Typical laptop type of memory hardware... but there is differences between them too. knowing the memory type and Pin count will help out here.

Depends. Of course you have to buy the same type of RAM that you already have or you'll end up with more problems than you want. Make sure that your computer supports more than 4 GB of RAM. Is it x86 or x64? Unless you're getting a whole new set of RAM, get the same Crucial memory that you have now.

Thanks for A2A. My laptop is a x64, so it supports more than 4gb. Can you please specify what to look for on buying another 4gb module?
