New Ram on Acer Aspire One D270?

Hi, i have an Elpida 4GB 2Rx8 ram taken from a broken Asus and i'd like to know if I can use it to replace my acer's 1gb..
Can anyone help me, please?

Edit: I already know the pc will consider the ram only as a 3gb but it's still better than nothing..

more information is needed what model is the computers motherboard? What model Acer? If you do not know the answer to these questions then ensure they are both of the same type i.e. DDR2 DDR3 if they are the same just install the 4gb ram if the computer does not post put the other RAM back in and assume it is incompatible.
