Hey guys I need some help. I just bought and assembled this rig less than 2 months ago so I am pretty frustrated that I am experiencing this issue.

Last night in the middle of playing Archeblade on steam, my computer just crashed. Cut off, and restarted itself. But it can't get passed the boot screen because the monitor eventually times out and says No Signal. Even if I try to go to setup or BIOS, it seems to be only have a few seconds before it cuts out. sometimes it will get as far as to showing the Windows 8 squares and its loading circle, but still eventually cuts out. The monitor stays blank while the computer stays on and sounds like its running fine. Haven't had a single problem until now

I hope it is not a mobo problem

Try switching your monitor to the on board video port. CMOS may have been reset; if that works, then at least you can start troubleshooting.

I can see that, based on your specs, that PSU is pretty weak in the wattage department for that machine. That would be what I would expect to have happened -- not enough power (or just barley enough) and when you started gaming it peaked over the maximum output. Your video card requires a MINIMUM of 500w alone

Thank you for the quick response Rex

If you could run me through, how do i go about enabling on-board graphics?

Thats what I think you HAVE to use at the moment. Unplug your video cable (VGA/ DVI/ or HDMI) from the back of your GPU and plug it into your VGA/ DVI/ or HDMI that is on your mother board. It will likely be up by the USB & audio jacks.

In the event your MB reset itself to defaults, the only thing available for video output right now may BE the onboard

Just tried the onboard as well as the extra port and the monitor still doesn't stay on.

With this, do you think that my power supply just peaked and that I will just need to buy a much higher Wattage one?

Try another monitor if you can
Try removing all but 1 of your ram sticks (if applicable)
Try another PSU (does your current one smell? Did it make a high pitched sound before the shutdown?)

Kinda just have to try and isolate each component until you determine which is the culprit

If you are getting any where at any point past POST, Id think to look at the psu

When they are dying, they can create all kinds of intermittent issues like that

I think it may be the power supply. Another monitor did the same thing. I dont have another psu to test, but there is a little high pitched sound it makes upon booting up. What wattage should I get then if I was to replace it? I clearly made the mistake of trusting PcPartPicker's estimated wattage lol
