New Router and unstable upload speed

My old router have been suddenly "disconnecting" me without really disconnecting me.
I was still connected according to the system but I had no internet access and I couldn't even access the router setup via 192.168.0.1 but if I turned off wifi and turn it back on, everything is fine. It was all nice and all until I decided to play a turn based flash game and that thing happened sometimes in the middle of battle making me lose all my energy and I decided to change to the new router I had in backup in case this one breaks down.

The thing is the new router's upload speed is REALLY unstable.

Brand is D-link Dir 820L, my connection is 10M/1M
Firmware is 2.03 which is the newest on their website.

On 5Ghz, my speed test earlier gave me 10.4M/0.75M
Then on 2.4Ghz, my speed test gave me 10.4M/1M.
Also, I returned on 5Ghz right away and got 10.4M/0.38M
But the next test on 2.4Ghz gave me 10.4M/1M again
These were one after another.

It kinda felt slow for my flash game and went to check speed again 10 mins later
On 2.4Ghz, it got to 10.1M/0.57M.
Didn't bother checking 5Ghz since I disabled it to see it'll get any better.

The upload speed usually varies from 0.3M to 1.3M and it's getting really annoying.
On desktop, it's working fine even when I get low readings on wireless so the wired part isn't causing any problems.
The old router didn't have any upload speed instability so I presume the problem lies with the router.
The router is a meter away from my notebook so the distance isn't a problem neither.
No one uses 5Ghz in my neighborhood and I'm alone in channel 9 for 2.4Ghz.

In the router's log, I get a bunch of errors I don't know how to fix which I think is the cause (might be something else but looks suspicious)

I'm seriously hesitating getting back to the old router for a while and get another brand than dlink but I figured I'll try to fix it first, I can't refund this one anymore after all.

Check your wireless adapter settings. Match them to the router directly - no auto or auto-negotiate settings. Or if they are "preset" then try the "autos".

Do you which devices is 192.168.0.131? I expect that that is your system showing that your logged into the router as admin.

Are you doing any port forwarding for the turn based game? Which ports?

If you have the user manual verify that you set up any port forwarding correctly. (Note: DLink's website would not let me download the manual for some unknown reason....)

Also: "Can't find in which sub network the client is".

I googled that notification and found a few interesting links relating to buggy software and configuration issues. Did not see any links that I deemed relevant at this point. However, you may wish to take a look yourself. Not necessarily to immediately do anything but to just see if you recognize some other common factor that may be applicable.

192.168.0.131 is my notebote, I reserved the IPs to prevent conflict on the dlink router. 13# are all my devices.

I have port forwarding on for a few p2ps and torrent but none for game (5300, 23000, 53001).
It should be correct since I did it for the older model before and it was working fine. There's a Port Forwarding section in Advanced in the setup and you just put the IP and ports there.

For wireless adapter settings, I don't really understand what you want me to do here
I googled it and they told me to go to Device Manager->Wifi's Properties -> Advanced but I don't know what to change. I'm on Windows 10 btw.

I tried googling that error too but I didn't find a post that explains it in a way I understand... They mention a miniupnd.conf file which I have no idea where how to access it. Save Configuration and Load Configuration in Tools->System? It's not something I want to play with without the help of someone, I'm not that knowledgeable about networks.

Under the Advanced tab, scroll down to Speed&Duplex - see what the "Value" is set at and write that down. Then clicking the down arrow on the right end of the Value box should drop down other choices for speed and duplex. Match your router; e.g., 100 Mbps Full Duplex. Click okay and see if connectivity improves. Please be aware that the systems may need a couple of minutes to "handshake" accordingly and get going again.

But that may be just more of an exercise for the moment - especially because you did not have a problem per se with the older router.

Port forwarding: I wondered about that because of the "24072" in the entries. There is also a "40837" entry.

I googled both port numbers and also miniupnd.conf for more information. What I read seems to indicate a configuration problem with respect to those two ports and their respecitive configurations. Configuration is script only and very involved.

So to do something positive and practical plus helpful (as I am at the outer fringes of my comfort zone) I suggest two things:

1) Look at the website for the turn based/flash game you are playing and see if you can find any more information regarding the ports, protocols, and configuration. That information may not have seemed relevant at first but you may now see things differently. Some detail that did not seem to matter.

2) Look at your routers and see what you can learn with respect to their respective use of UPnP and the required configuration. Perhaps the new router can be configured to match the older router in a matter that gets things working again.

Wish I could provide a direct answer. However, if enough information can be gleaned out of all of this then some other forum member may be able to recognize the problem and offer a solution.

For Wireless Settings, I don't see Speed and Duplex in my network card, might have been removed or moved in Windows 10.

The miniupnpd error is 24072 only but the kernel warning is pretty random, I looked a few more pages of the log and there is 53958, 30075, 24342. Didn't notice they had Next and Last Page in the router before. Rather than the port, it's prolly a command somewhere.

The game has nothing to do with these problems, I shut down my notebook, logged in the router with my tablet and they kept appearing after the line that says the notebook stops activities or whatever.

Unfortunately, I have no idea on how to look at those things for configuration. I tried to do save settings and got a .bin file and I couldn't find the configurations anywhere. Guess I'll wait a bit more and see if there is a cheap router out there meanwhile...

Got a .pdf copy of the User Manual - found the settings that I would look at.....

Go to the Advanced Network Settings screen on the DLink 820L.

Specifically is UPnP = Enabled and possibly the need to turn off WAN Ping. There are a lot of other settings available but information and help is provided in the right side screen area.

Go to at the Application Rules screen - check the configuration with respect to gaming requirements.

Double check Port Forward Rules as well on that screen.

Explore first before changing anything but make note of any inconsistencies, missing or extra settings.

Unfortunately, I do not have that router and cannot "walk" the screens to see all of the settings - especially drop down choices. Should be pretty much standard but placement can and does vary as well as the degree to which you can control things.

UPnP was enabled and WAN Ping disabled, tried changing them and nothing changed.
I gave up, I think I need to decompile the bin file from save settings and mess around with the .conf file's script but that's way beyond my abilities, went back to the old router and everything is working fine. If only it didn't disconnect me randomly every once in a while while the system says I'm still connected...

I'll try to get another cheap router I guess, this one was horrible. I should have tested it earlier and try to get a refund...

On a sidenote, I did a factory reset earlier and the port associated with miniupnpd changed so I guess the port didn't really matter.

Thanks for trying to help.
