[SOLVED] new ryzen 2600

Ryzen 2600 cpu has 2017 printed on it although it was released in early 2018. Is the 2017 to mark the zen architecture which was released in 2017? does that mean the last generation of cpus released on am4 platform in 2020 would have 2017 on them as well?

It is probably the manufacture date. Can you post the batch number? It starts with UA and then has 4 numbers and then 3 letters.

Well my cpu is already in use but check out this unboxing vid, its a recent purchase like mine and his also has 2017 on it at the bottom of the cpu

Ah, that is basically just the copyright date for the Ryzen branding, not the Zen micro architecture. All Ryzen cpus will have it until they change the nomenclature.
