shnur as of today try inspiron 13 $399 thats like what 70 bucks cheaper

But its not slightly heavier its almost twice but you can upgrade to a pentium dual core and 6 cell 56whr battery for about 500. Self install 4 gigs of ram and for about 550 with shipping the inspirion 13 is a really nice portable laptop today and definitly getting a lot more for your money that a netbook. Not to dis netbooks but the 1024x600 and gma 950 need to be upgraded badly. Even at 10 inches 1280x800 would be much better.

The 13.3" Dell with double the processing power I was talking about comes in at $449.99 with a processor upgrade so it is actually cheaper then this netbook in that configuration.

By the way, most websites meant for personal computers are designed to be best viewed at 720p (1280x720) resolutions or higher and the netbook is far below that.

You guys are talking about the Inspiron Mini 12. It is a Atom Z520-based system. The Studio XPS 13 is a $1100+ C2D system. Regardless, the point is still valid that the Dell is bigger, more capable and cheaper.

Infinitron just released a netbook that has a 12 day battery life. It has the innovative Intel 8088 processor clocked at 1 Hz. Running Windows 3.1 it can open a youtube video in five days. It also ways 2 grams and is the size of a postage stamp.

ok 5-10 hours of life from a 4-cell is impressive. NOT. One of these days I'll massively underclock my 45nm CPU, Vmod it down, rip out my discrete graphics solution, and cut my screen size in half. I bet I'll get 5 hours easy. and my fingers won't cramp while typing on it for 5 hours.
