[SOLVED] New setup

I just upgraded to modem only from Cox Cable. I currently have a Motorola MB8600 with 2 Google WiFi points connected so I can only connect through the WiFi.

I want to put a wired router after the modem so I can hardwire a computer, gaming system, tv box and the Google WiFi. Is there anything special I need to do, or do I just go get a router and plug it in?

This is the first time I have not used the modem/WiFi router that the cable companies rent out.

I would ditch the google wifi, and just get a good wireless router. Your budget matters, though.

I believe those have an extra port. You should be able to plug in a cheap switch or even just 1 client.
