Hello guys!
I recently upgraded to Skylake and I have been experiencing a rather strange issue which I did not have with my previous CPU, MB and RAM - I have had a couple of complete freezes/lock-ups while gaming. All the fans keep spinning and the lights are on, but the PC is unresponsive and the only option is to restart or shut down using the buttons on the case.
This is my current build:

Please note that only the CPU (plus cooler), MB and RAM has been changed and previously I did not have this kind of issue.
I tried running the Aida64 stability test for 30 minutes on all components at the same time, and it didn't cause the same effect. I also tried using MemTest86 to test my RAM. I did 2 passes over a period of 3 hours - no errors. In addition, I re-seated the RAM sticks and the GPU to make sure that they're firmly in place. I also re-installed the GPU driver.
However, after the second freeze I noticed that I had mismatched the motherboard's POWER/RESET cables. Basically, I had one of the POWER cables occupying the GND pin of RESET and vice versa. Could this actually be the cause of these freezes or is it something else?
Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Ruiner
