Dear friends,

Started assembling a new Skylake PC. The idea is to mount a MiniITX and later upgrade to M-ATX for SLI...

Parts:

CPU: i7 6700K http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=111156&vpn=BX80662I76700K&manufacture=Intel&promoid=1452
Cooler: 80i GT http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1126938-REG/corsair_cw_9060017_ww_hydro_series_h80i_gtx.html
MOBO: Stinger ITX Z170 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188179&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
MEM: 16gb DDR4 3000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226730&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
PS: Supernova B2 850W Bronze (already own)
Video: GTX980TI Gaming 6g (already own)

Any sugestions on the build parts and case?

Thanks!

Convinced about the MOBO. Going for ASUS GENE:

I was afraid that the weight of an air cooler might damage the MOBO when carrying the system around. Silly me? Any suggestion on the cooler (for slight amateur OC)?

Having more space there goes the storage ideia:
System:Samsung 500GB 850 Evo M.2 SSD

Apps: 2 x Caviar Black 4TB Raid 0 (or 1+0)?

Archive: Seagate 8TB (already own)
Audio: SB X-FI Titanium HD (already own)

Suggestions about the coolest/smallest M-ATX to carry system around?

Cheers and thanks for the prompt reply!

If you need portability, then ITX is the way to go.
GTX980ti is as good as it gets, you can run any single monitor short of 4k very well.
When the time comes that you need more, there will be the next gen cards available.
There are many good small ITX cases around. Look at Silverstone cm, and lian li.
The lian li tu-200 would make a nice lan itx case.

If you are going M-ATX in the future, you might as well start with a M-ATX case.
I can recommend the Silverstone TJ-08E.
It is more compact than most other M-ATX cases, but I would not count it as highly portable.
It does have an interesting cpu cooler support mechanism for extra heavy air coolers.

As to coolers, the 6700K is going to do all you need at stock.
There should be many simple air cooler solutions that will do the job, even for a conservative overclock.

Why not just go with an MATX build to begin with? I'm not sure I am following here.

I would try something like this:
