Hey! My new Skylake system is freezing. Like it stops to 1 frame and no sound at background. This happens at games and idle. I have allready tested ram with memtest86+ and using 1 ram at time. Any suggestions to what to do? And yeah. I have tested a another psu too. The psu isnt the problem

System Specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro Operating System
i5-6600k non oc and watercooled
maximus viii gene motherboard
Asus gtx770 4gb gpu
8gb of g.skill ripjaws v 3000mhz ddr4 ram (it has xmp 2.0)
650w enermax Eco
128gb Samsung 850pro ssd
and 2tb seagate hdd

Solution

Ok. On nvidia control panel. In the 3d options, i set used resfesh rate to program controlled. Not to highest available. Now my gpu atleast works fine. Have to look about if that freezing problem went away too

Yes. I have tried to not install any drivers. Just installed gpu drivers and games what i want to play. Problem still exists. I have tried windows 7 too. Nothing new happens

No freezing/singal error when altabbing form the game and back... This is interesting. 😱

I have to ask my friend to give back my amd hd 4xxxx card
i will update this after i got it..

edit: Right after i said this, and tried to restart. No singnal... God dammit

What are your system/CPU temps? Any chance the watercooling isn't working right? Are you planning on OCing this down the road? My first guess is something with RAM timing/compatibility. Have you tried loading BIOS defaults or any built in profiles for balanced/power (Not familiar with that motherboard but most have several "easy mode" setups from conservative to aggressive for RAM/CPU/voltages.

cpu isnt oc and its about 45c on load. gpu is about 75c on load, but i think that i figured this out allready. I disabled asus protection on bios. Everything seems now work really well
