New Skylake System Freezing

Hey! My new Skylake system is freezing. Like it stops to 1 frame and no sound at background. This happens at games and idle. I have allready tested ram with memtest86+ and using 1 ram at time. Any suggestions to what to do? And yeah. I have tested a another psu too. The psu isnt the problem

System Specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro Operating System
i5-6600k non oc and watercooled
maximus viii gene motherboard
Asus gtx770 4gb gpu
8gb of g.skill ripjaws v 3000mhz ddr4 ram (it has xmp 2.0)
650w enermax Eco
128gb Samsung 850pro ssd
and 2tb seagate hdd

Ok. On nvidia control panel. In the 3d options, i set used resfesh rate to program controlled. Not to highest available. Now my gpu atleast works fine. Have to look about if that freezing problem went away too

Solution


When i have played, and i quickly restart when my gpu is still warm, i get no signal after windows logo, but i made some more changes. On nvidia control panel, i checked Replace games and programs assigned by scaling mode box. Now my monitor doesnt show the "Display port" Logo everytime when i lauch the game. i Havent got any freezes lately..

Well... After testing and testing... the freeze is still there. I am going to rma my mobo and cpu to be sure

Hey!

Same freezing with another card :/ i am going to sent my cpu,mobo and rams to rma. They will test them there and replace if needed!

I have disabled intergrated craphics from bios, so it doesnt show in the Device manager. Anyway thx for trying to help!

I have similar problems

I7 6700K
Asus rog maximus VIII ranger
2x8gb hyper x
2x Gtx 570 SLI

Win 10 64 bit


latest uefi v 1402 BIOS

latest drivers

only freezes ingame roughly every 10 hours more often when it has recovered after sleep hibernation state. Although it will work perfectly until about 30min to hours after

really no idea what to test

Yeah. i recommend to sent your mobo and cpu to rma. No problems after new mobo came. or try to install windows again and dont install asus ai suite. its been reported for many bugs and errors. I hope this fixes it! (btw. if you uninstall asus ai suite it doesnt help. there is still errors at registery for example.) so just try to install windows again and dont install any asus software. Only Drivers etc

according to Asus it's win10 issue. deactivated sleep mode fixed it for me. Never installed AI suite.

I have the same issue, and in my knowledge it's CPU problem. Go to the Control Panel -> Power options -> set it on "High Performance" it should highly reduce freezes (but not solve it). If no, go to the BIOS and disable C-States - it should reduce freezes to minimum (but still not solve, cause it's probably damaged CPU). That should help, but I still highly recommend RMA CPU. I didn't do it yet, cause I need my PC, but I want do it in near future.

I have Silvester my freezing completely since i disabled sleep mode in Windows10. It has only frozen when sleepmode was used . Asus mobo Shows Code 30 for sleep recovery success ful. Code A0 never a single freeze
