New SSD + already have 2 HDDs in Raid 0. Help?

I know this is a very redundant subject, but browsing the interwebs in search of clarification has just made me more confused.

-> I have:
2x 1TB HDDs in Raid 0, Windows 8 installed and they already have plenty of data on them, programs, vids... + 1x (new, clean) 256GB SSD

-> What I want:

The W8 OS on the SSD + keep my current data on the HDDs [/b]

I understand that there is software (Paragon) to migrate the OS, but I want to opt for a clean install, I read this is more advisable.

So my plan is to just disconnect my HDDs, connect the SSD, then insert my W8 CD and install it using my current product key. After that I would reconnect my HDDs, restart the computer and boom = I would have the OS on the SSD and my old data on the 2 HDDs (in Raid 0). Then I could move over any data I want to the SSD. I understand my old installed programs won't work.

-> Is this correct? No fiddling with the BIOS? Any problems concerning Raid 0? Does Raid 0 allow the SSD to work in AHCI mode? Do I somehow need to optimise the SSD? And does it matter having the old, now 'idle' install of W8 on the HDD?

Thanks for reading & any help.

Ok I did just as I said, detached the HDDs, installed fresh W8 on the SSD without touching the BIOS since Raid supports AHCI, then after successful installation, plugged the HDDs back in, they work as Raid 0 and all is working!
