Hey guys if anyone could help me with this SSD problem I'd really appreciate it!
I just recently got a new Samsung SSD 850 EVO (500GB) and what I did was cloned my old SSD (112GB) onto it. I removed the old SSD (112GB) and tested out my new one and everything seems to work and run fine except that when I check 'My Computer' my local disk is still showing the old SSD "2.19GB free of 111GB." The new SSD (500GB) is not shown there.
I tried to run the software Samsung Magician that came with it and it is showing me errors that says "AHCI is disabled for one or more connected SSDs. System must boot in AHCI for best performance."
After reading more into that, I realize I need to set my BIOS to run in AHCI for the new SSD which I did, but then would get a BSOD. When I set it back to IDE it works fine, but then I'm back with the problem as to why it is showing my old SSD instead of the new one.
I believe my new SSD that I put in is not being recognized as the new partition to perform at its best. The Samsung Magician software also says "Your OS is currently optimized for use with an HDD."
I wanted to mention that I have a 300GB HDD that is also in use, but I didn't make any changes with it. I am currently using Windows 7 Home Premium also if that helps solve my problem in any way. Any advice or feedback would be great, thank you!
