new SSD purchase

Solution

"m.2" is just the physical interface.
M.2 drives can be either SATA or PCIe (NVMe).

Your motherboard can take either.

At 100€, your options are somewhat limited.

500GB...
You can google with key words: " What not to do to SSD" As an example I got this article for you:

https://www.howtogeek.com/165472/6-things-you-shouldnt-do-with-solid-state-drives/

I have 1 SSD drive and I use it for OS and SOME games, not all. Just like the article says, minimize the read/write process to it. It is inevitable to write and read to it, but such things as Web Browser Cache directory and , as an example, online games can be configured/installed onto the HDD.

You will see a major speed improvement and I am sure you will love it. From your setup I already see that you have a big storage drive, so you know what you are doing. Technology develops pretty fast, don't purchase older models of SSD, invest a little more and buy the latest.

I have this drive installed ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OBRFFAS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
1. Reconfigured all my browser's cache to my HDD
2. Installed programs that I use a lot on it, like Photoshop, some games, etc
3. Most of the online games are installed on HDD

In Photoshop I reconfigured scratch disks to HDD. If you wanna prolong the drive, you will have to tinker with your pc config a bit and think in advance. To be honest with you, its like buying a new car mentality: You wanna enjoy it but don't wanna put a lot of miles on it. I say enjoy the speed and if it starts to fail on you a lot, get a new one. Win 10 will load in less than 15 seconds :), you will love it.

Thanks, i ll have those in mind!

should i go with an M.2, NVMe, or a SATA?
I was thinking about 100€
